Fraternization Policy
Purpose:
To maintain professionalism, ensure fairness, and prevent conflicts of interest within the Ta-Seti Nation, this policy outlines the rules and guidelines regarding relationships between members. This policy aims to uphold the integrity of the organization and ensure a respectful and unbiased environment.
Scope:
This policy applies to all members of the Ta-Seti Nation, including Full Members, Prospect Members, and leadership.
1. Relationships Between Full Members and Prospect Members
- Prohibition: Romantic or intimate relationships between Full Members and Prospect Members are prohibited. This rule is in place to avoid potential conflicts of interest and to maintain a professional and respectful environment.
- Exemption: An exemption may be granted if a romantic or intimate relationship existed prior to the Prospect Member's entry into the Prospect Training Program. In such cases, the relationship must be disclosed to the J1, HQ-JFTSN: Administration and Personnel Officer via email to personnel.office@tasetination.org for proper assessment and management.
2. Relationships Between Prospect Members
- Prohibition: Romantic or intimate relationships between Prospect Members are prohibited to ensure an unbiased training environment and to prevent potential conflicts of interest or favoritism during the Prospect Training Program.
- Exemption: If a relationship between Prospect Members existed prior to joining the Prospect Training Program, it must be disclosed to the J1, HQ-JFTSN: Administration and Personnel Officer via email to personnel.office@tasetination.org for proper assessment and management.
3. Relationships Within Chain of Command
- Prohibition: Romantic or intimate relationships between members within the same chain of command are prohibited. This rule is intended to prevent conflicts of interest, maintain professionalism, and ensure that decisions are made impartially without favoritism or bias.
- Exemption: If a romantic or intimate relationship existed prior to one or both parties entering the same chain of command, the relationship must be disclosed to the J1, HQ-JFTSN: Administration and Personnel Officer via email to personnel.office@tasetination.org. The office will review the situation and may grant an exemption while implementing measures to mitigate any potential conflicts of interest.
4. Relationships Involving Supervisors and Subordinates
- Prohibition: Romantic and intimate relationships between supervisors and their direct reports are prohibited. Additionally, managers are prohibited from dating anyone within their direct or indirect reporting lines. This includes relationships with individuals whom they have the authority to influence, evaluate, or supervise.
- Exemption: An exemption may be granted if a romantic or intimate relationship existed prior to one or both parties entering into a supervisory or subordinate role. In such cases, the relationship must be disclosed to the J1, HQ-JFTSN: Administration and Personnel Officer via email to personnel.office@tasetination.org for proper assessment and management. Measures will be implemented to mitigate any potential conflicts of interest.
- Rationale: This measure aims to prevent conflicts of interest, bias in managerial decisions, and ensure equal treatment of all members.
5. Relationships Involving Power Imbalances
- Prohibition: Relationships between members where a power imbalance exists are prohibited. This includes relationships between supervisors and direct reports or any other situations where one party holds significant influence over the other’s career or position within the organization.

Disclosure: Any relationship that may violate this policy must be disclosed to the J1, HQ-JFTSN: Administration and Personnel Officer via email to personnel.office@tasetination.org. An investigation will be conducted to assess the situation.

Reassignment: If a prohibited relationship is identified, the involved parties may be reassigned to different chains of command or units to eliminate the conflict of interest. This reassignment will be conducted in a manner that minimizes disruption and respects the privacy of the individuals involved.
- Confidentiality: All disclosures and investigations will be handled confidentially, with respect for the privacy of all parties involved. Information will only be shared on a need-to-know basis.
Implementation and Compliance:
The J1, HQ-JFTSN: Administration and Personnel Officer is responsible for implementing and enforcing this policy. All members are expected to comply and report any potential violations.
This policy aims to foster a respectful and professional environment within the Ta-Seti Nation, ensuring that all members can participate without undue influence or favoritism.
Disciplinary Actions
Disciplinary action for violation of Fraternization Policy shall be addressed per the Uniform Code of Community Justice Policy.
